 Surprise Surprise

I didn't get around to contacting Alison about switching me around on the sidebar, but I'm about a month and a half away from delivering a baby boy. I've been wanting to make Elizabeth Zimmerman's Baby Surprise Jacket for a while, and I figured the arrival of my little dude would be a perfect excuse.

There's more info on my own blog, but here are the basic specs:

Baby Surprise Jacket by Elizabeth Zimmerman (I ordered the pamphlet from School House Press
Yarn: Colinette Cadenza in Slate and Rowan Tapestry (for the button band)
Needle: US #6
Mods: I made the button band and bottom edge about three or four rows shorter than the pattern called for and also only put in three buttons.

So, that's about it. This sweater really is as exciting as the name would claim. And, for those of you who are on your first baby, the wide t-shaped arms are really great for a newborn. I highly recommend this pattern -- while the way it's written out is a little cryptic, there are loads of places online to get a little bit of help if you need more detailed instructions. That's what Ravelry (and if you're not on it, Google), is there for, right?
